Considering the negative environmental effects of emissions, it is a good time now at the beginning of 2012 to seriously consider an alternative to standard automobiles.
Hybrid and electric vehicles can represent this alternative and the future of personal transportation.
A hybrid vehicle is using the internal combustion engine of a conventional vehicle in combination with the high-voltage battery and electric motor of an electric vehicle. Electric vehicles are using an electric motor, with rechargeable battery packs.
The advantages, technical and practical (fuel savings and tax incentives) and the differences of this technologies will be widely discussed in two symposiums.
The first event, Hybrid Vehicle Technologies Symposiums will take place this February 21-22, 2012 at Town and Country Resort & Conference Center in San Diego, California.
This symposium will present recent innovations from leaders in the industry through specialized panel discussions and presentations. Some topics of discussion are: Long term technology , Energy storage system innovations ,Challenges facing the market , Challenges facing energy storage systems, OEM innovations and technology perspectives, Supplier advances and innovations, Heavy-duty hybrid developments for commercial vehicle and military, Fuel economy and environmental aspects.
The Electric Vehicle Technologies Symposium will take place the next day of the first event, February 23, 2012 also at Town and Country Resort & Conference Center in San Diego, California.
This second symposium will offer information over electric drives, motors, energy storage and system engineering from the innovators and OEMs of hybrid and electric vehicle technology.
Topics of this second event are: Need for public charging infrastructure; Fast charging developments; Regulations and standards, Cabin thermal management, Battery thermal management, Battery state of health, Utility preparedness, Secondary use, recycling and disposal.
Crossing the border, Mexico is well known for its automotive industry, where the trend by most of the multinational automotive corporation is to assemble more electric cars for export every year as part of Mexico Maquiladora Industry programs for promoting green technologies.
