Baja California Culinary & Gastronomic Festival 2012 will be held October 11 to 14. Tijuana Innovadora and the Culinary & Gastronomic festival are two events that compliment each other in order to achieve the region’s reawakening. The event will feature 24 participating chefs preparing 12 special dinners from around Baja California. During the festival, there will be culinary contests and a keynote conference among other events.
Baja California is hosting its second edition of the Baja California Culinary Fest. The first edition took place last year and was a major success, with binational participation of 27 chefs from Baja California and also executives awarded chefs from California.
The 4-day festival program includes a gastronomic course, followed by a culinary competition at the Culinary Art School and two master conferences on October 11. The official inauguration of the event is a tribute to the Caesar Salad and will take place at the gourmet area in Via Corporativa at the same day. At the opening event the Caesar salad will be reinterpreted by all the guest chefs and will be served with wines from Guadalupe Valley as well as craft beers made in Baja California.
October 12th is demo cooking classes and special dinners prepared by top chefs from the region. Saturday October 13th visits are scheduled at the Wine Museum and other three wineries for tasting. The last day of the event is reserved for a Gastro Tour in Tijuana to greatest food spots in Tijuana, and at the same time there is a Lobster Festival in Rosarito and Tijuana Food Fest at Plaza Galeria.
The international impression of the culinary phenomenon in the region can be reviewed from the publications of at least 15 top bloggers of Southern California, which are assisting at the event.
